January is National Crime Stoppers Month

Web posted on January 28, 2014

(January 22, 2014 Guelph & Wellington County, ON) Crime Stoppers programs across Canada are celebrating January as Crime Stoppers Month and this is the perfect time to remind people that anyone can take advantage of this proven, safe and anonymous crime fighting program by calling 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by going online to our website at www.crimestoppersguelphwellington.com.

Both phone tips and web tips are anonymous and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We want people to understand that all tips are anonymous. Tipsters never have to give their name or testify in court. Cash rewards of up to $2,000 can be paid for information that helps solve a crime.

Crime Stoppers is a great program that has been in Guelph & Wellington County for 25 years and works to help stop, solve and prevent crime by bringing together the best efforts of the media, community and the police.

This year Crime Stoppers Month has been officially recognized by Community Safety and Correctional Services Minister Meilleur, O.P.P. Commissioner Lewis, Ministry of Natural Resources Minister Orazietti and R.C.M.P. Commissioner Paulson.

The media helps promote awareness for our program during Crime Stoppers month in print and on air, as well as local businesses and organizations on their road signs and social media.

Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making this community program a great success.
