Collision Sends One Peson To Hospital in Perth County

(NORTH PERTH, ON) - Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) team are investigating a two vehicle crash that took place this morning on Road 164 (Highway 23) just north of Gowanstown.

Officers responded to the collision scene along with Perth County EMS and North Perth Firefighters at approximately 10:15 a.m..

The driver of a Hyundai Elantra was travelling southbound on Road 164 when he lost control of his vehicle. He crossed the center line and collided with a northbound GMC Terrain.

The lone occupant of the Hyundai was extricated from the vehicle. The 40 year old male from Palmerston was transported to hospital in London with life threatening injuries.

The driver and lone occupant of the GMC Terrain, a 60 year old male from North Perth sustained minor injuries. He has since been released from hospital.

The roadway is now open for travel.
