Impaired driver arrested

On February 5, 2014 at 3:30 a.m., the Guelph Police received a call about a possible impaired driver that had left the roadway on Bard Boulevard and Clough Crescent and was now stopped. Police attended and located the car with a male in the driver's seat. Police spoke with this male, determined he was intoxicated and he was arrested.

Evan SHIFFLETT, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with care and control impaired driving and care and control over 80 mg. He was also charged with novice driver BAC above zero under the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on February 21, 2014.

Impaired driver arrested

On February 5, 2014 at 4:13 a.m., the Guelph Police attended to the Hanlon Parkway and College Avenue after reports of a vehicle going into a ditch. Investigation alleges that the vehicle was travelling northbound in the southbound lanes, almost striking another vehicle before going into the ditch.

When police arrived, the vehicle was located on the medium but the driver had left in another vehicle. Police were able to locate the driver shortly after and he was arrested.

Bradley KAYE, 20 years of Palmerston has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving and driver over 80 mg. He will appear in court on February 25, 2014.

Break and enter

On February 5, 2014 at 7:19 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a hotel located on Carden Street to investigate a break and enter. It is reported that a laptop and Ipad were stolen from a room in the hotel.

Investigation has discovered two possible suspects in this incident that police are looking to identify.

1- White male, 5'7", wearing a blue touque and carrying a gym bag.

2- White male, 6', orange/blonde hair, wearing a black bomber style jacket with a hood that has fur. The jacket also has a silver design on the back. This male was carrying a backpack.
