The Guelph Police and Victim Services Wellington are sharing an office in the Shelldale Centre (former Shelldale school). The office will be used by police and Victim Services staff for interviews, report writing, and interaction with community groups. The office will be used by officers whenever time and calls for service permit.


On February 25, 2002, at 6:55pm, a 16-year-old Guelph boy was arrested for two (2) counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 following an investigation into to residential break enter and thefts. One break and enter was to a residence on Lowes Road in December 2001, and the other was to a residence on Dawn Avenue in January 2002. A quantity of jewelry, which had been stolen from these residences, was pawned on February 15, 2002, at a local pawn shop. The youth will be in court in April charged with 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000.


A 53-year-old Guelph man was arrested for Drive Over 80 mgs on February 25, 2002, at 9:45pm. The man was pulled over for a traffic stop on Steven Street North, and subsequently failed the roadside screening device test. He will appear in court in April to answer the charge.


On February 25, 2002, at 8:45am, a man exposed himself to a group of girls on their way to school. Three girls (aged 12) were walking to Willow Road Public School, when they observed a male standing on a path in Willowdale Park, near the splash pad, exposing himself to them. The girls then ran to school and notified school staff. The male did not approach the girls nor did he say anything to them.

The suspect is described as a very tall white male, with medium build. He was wearing a black puffy jacket and black pants. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Guelph Police at 824-1212 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
