Police Investigate After Two Snowmobiles Stolen

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) - The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of two snowmobiles from Listowel this week.

On Monday March 03, 2014, between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., a white 2008 Polaris 700 snowmobile, with Licence number 979754 and VIN #SN1PP7JS68C351618, was removed from behind Listowel District High School.

This snowmobile had been parked with other snowmobiles near the soccer field behind the school. The snowmobile has distinctive bright red steering column guards.

On Thursday March 06, 2014, between 9:20 p.m. and 9:40 p.m., a blue and white 2003 Yamaha RX1 snowmobile, with licence number 921799 and VIN# JYE8FA0013A002792, was stolen from a vacant lot at the North East corner of the intersection of Wallace Ave South and Elma St East. This snowmobile has a very distinguished loud exhaust due to an after-market MBRP exhaust system. The owner had parked the snowmobile for a short period of time before it was observed missing.

Both snowmobile owners had removed the keys from the ignition and both machines were left in visible locations.
