BREAK-IN TO RURAL RESIDENCE

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) - On Monday March 10, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to a rural residence on Road 155 South/East of Mitchell, where the homeowners discovered a break-in.

Investigation determined that sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Monday March 10th, the suspect(s) forced entry, ransacked and searched the home. A 60" Sony Smart Television as well as Jewellery, medication, and cash was removed.

The suspect(s) would have used a vehicle to attend at this residence and to transport the large Television.

If you have information about this break-in, or have observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Road 155 and Line 26 & 29 on Monday morning, you are requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. STOLEN ELECTRONIC ITEMS

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) - On Monday March 10, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a residence along Rowland St. in Mitchell where the homeowner reported theft from a vehicle.

Investigation revealed that sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday March 09, and 3 p.m. Monday March 10, 2014, an unknown individual entered the home owner's unlocked pickup truck. The pickup truck was parked in the residence driveway with numerous electronic items in clear view. The culprit removed a GARMIN GPS, and a Motorola flip cell phone along with their respective cords, from the cab of the truck.

The Perth County OPP wishes to talk to anyone with information about this theft or the whereabouts of the items, they can be contacted at 1-888-310-1122. Residents are reminded to always roll up your vehicle's windows, LOCK the doors and pocket the key. Do not leave your vehicle keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area, remove valuables, and do not leave objects or packages in full view. If suspicious persons or vehicles are observed in your neighbourhood, contact the police immediately.

MAN CHARGED AFTER DRIVING THROUGH ROUND-ABOUT

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) - On Monday March 10, 2014, shortly before 9 p.m., Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a collision at the round-about on Hwy 7 at Perth Line 9 (Wildwood Park entrance).

Investigation indicated that a KIA Sorento SUV had been travelling south bound on Hwy 7. The vehicle crossed the traffic island north of the round-about, crossed the ring road and the centre island before it came to rest on the south portion of the ring road.

A small tree in the centre island was taken out and the vehicle was totalled. The 57 year old male driver from Forest Ontario did not sustain injuries as a result of the collision. The driver has been charged with "careless driving".
