OPP Investigate Serious Collision on Highway 6 South

(PUSLINCH TOWNSHIP, ON) On March 21, 2014 at approximately 4:36 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a serious collision involving two motor vehicles on Highway 6 South between Leslie Road and Flamborough-Puslinch Townline Road, Puslinch Township.

Puslinch Fire and Rescue, Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Ornge Air Ambulance Services were also in attendance.

A south bound Pontiac collided with a northbound Lexus. The male driver of the Pontiac was transported by Air Ambulance to a Hamilton Hospital with serious injuries and the male passenger was transported to a Hamilton hospital by ambulance also with serious injuries. The male driver of the Lexus was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Pontiac has been identified as Donald RIED age 50 and the passenger was Kyle REID age 20. Both are from Burlington. The have remained in a Hamilton hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Lexus has been identified as Filippo RIDI 49 of Guelph. He is in a Hamilton Hospital with serious injuries.

Wellington County OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) are continuing with the investigation.

The road will be closed for further investigation.
