House Fire on Edinburgh Road - April 30, 2014

On Tuesday April 29, 2014 at 12:10 p.m., the Guelph Fire Department responded to a reported basement fire at 194 Edinburgh Road North and found smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Entry to the home was made and an aggressive interior fire attack was completed which brought it under control and subsequently extinguished. The fire was contained to the back half of the home with smoke and heat damage throughout the rest.

There were no injuries to firefighting personnel and all occupants and family pets were evacuated safely.

The cause of the fire along with an estimate of damage is still under investigation. Fire Prevention was contacted and responded to the scene.
