Break and enter

On April 29, 2014 at 2:26 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Huron Street residence to investigate a break and enter. It is believed that the entry occurred sometime on April 28, 2014. A theft of medications and jewelry is reported.

Four youths arrested

On April 28, 2014 at 11:51 a.m., a high school resource officer, from the Guelph Police Youth and Crime Prevention Unit was in the area of Preservation Park on foot patrol when four students were located in a concealed area off the trail smoking marijuana. All four students were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

All four were later released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act extrajudicial measures program and approximately 12 grams of marijuana was seized.


16th Annual Guelph Police Bicycle Ticket Program

The 16th Annual Guelph Police Bicycle Ticket Program will begin Thursday May 1, 2014 and will run until Friday August 1, 2014.

This program is designed to promote awareness to Guelph youth of the benefits of wearing bicycle helmets while riding their bike through positive reinforcement. While officers are on proactive patrol, when they see a child wearing their bike helmet, they will stop the youth and reward them with a ticket for a free, Dairy Queen "Mini-Blizzard" courtesy of Dairy Queen Guelph.

The child will then be eligible to win a free bike, courtesy of George Vettor Cycle, on August 1, 2014.
