(ST.MARY'S, ON) A Friday May 2nd, 2014, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) media release regarding the theft of a $1,000 mountain bike from St.Mary's was distributed by local media. This resulted in a St.Mary's resident contacting police and advising of the bike's whereabouts.

On Monday May 5th the bike was recovered and returned to its rightful owner by police. Officers are continuing their investigation into the theft and possession of the bike.

Police are reminding residents to ensure that they copy down the serial numbers of bicycles and other items. Engraving initials or other identifying marks on property will help in the identification of the items upon recovery. Engraving may also deter criminals from stealing your property as the items will be more difficult to pawn.
