Two car collision

On May 8, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a personal injury collision at the intersection of Willow Road and Westwood Road. It is alleged that a 2009 Hyundai, being driven by a 36-year-old Oshawa female and a 2006 Pontiac being driven by a 43-year-old Guelph male collided in a "T-bone" style of impact.

The force of this impact sent the Hyundai off the roadway and onto the Boulevard of Westwood Public School. The driver of the Hyundai who is pregnant and her two children as well as the driver of the Pontiac were all transported to Guelph General Hospital with minor injuries.

Both vehicles were demolished with an estimated value in excess of $11,000. The Hyundai driver has been charged with disobeying a red traffic signal.

Assault downtown male arrested

On May 8, 2014 at 6:50 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Old Quebec Street mall to assist security with a male. It is alleged that the intoxicated male was trying to go into the mall and when security attempted to prevent him from entering, the male punched the security officer in the face.

Wayne FOREST, 60 years of Guelph has been charged with assault. He will appear in court on June 17, 2014.

Impaired driver arrested

On May 9, 2014 at 1:05 a.m., the Guelph Police observed a motor vehicle driving erratically on Wyndham Street. A traffic stop was conducted on Norfolk Street. Police investigation determined that the male driver was impaired and he was arrested.

Liam WITTNEBEL, 20 years of Kitchener has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court May 23, 2014.

Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On May 9, 2014 at 1:22 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lowes Road with a motor vehicle. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Tyler ANDROSS, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on May 27, 2014.
