Recall - Babysoy Infant Sleepwear with Footies

Web posted on May 21, 2014

This recall involves babysoy footies (style number 200) and o soy footies (style number 500) in sizes 6 to 12 months. The babysoy footies are solid colour with contrasting trim (chocolate/green, blue/brown, purple/brown, pink/purple and pink/brown) and the o soy footies are white with various colour trim and have different images printed on the front.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled sleepwear and return the product to the store from which it was purchased for exchange or refund.

Neither Babysoy nor Health Canada has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these products.

The recalled products were sold from January 2010 to May 2014. Approximately 587 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada at various children's stores.

The affected sleepwear was manufactured in China and distributed through Babysoy Inc., Orange, California. For more information, consumers may contact Babysoy by telephone at 1-714-974-7770 or by email.

Health Canada's sampling and evaluation program has determined that these products do not meet the flammability requirements for children's sleepwear under Canadian law.

Loose-fitting children's sleepwear can contact ignition sources such as stove elements, candles, and matches more readily than tight-fitting sleepwear, and once ignited will burn rapidly, potentially resulting in severe burns to large areas of the child's body. For this reason, cotton is not permitted in loose-fitting sleepwear.
