Recall - Norpro Immersion Heater Model 559

This recall involves the Norpro immersion heater identified by model 559. The heater is a device used to warm liquids and has a chrome plated steel end with a white PVC handle. The immersion heater bears a label with the UL Mark for Canada and the United States.

When the heater is immersed in liquid the liquid may become energized, posing a shock hazard. The immersion heater does not comply with UL's safety requirements and is not authorized to bear the UL Mark for Canada and the United States.

Consumers should stop using the immersion heater immediately and dispose of it in their regular household trash.

Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of these heaters.

The number sold is unknown, but the product was known to be sold at Amazon.ca and may have been sold at other locations. The time period sold is unknown. The affected product was manufactured in China by Chun Tai Electric Co. Ltd.
