South end arrests stolen property

On June 10, 2014 at 4:10 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Heritage Drive in response to the report of two males walking, one carrying a crow bar. Police investigation led to both being arrested.

Residents in the Kortright Road East, Eugene Drive, Robin Road, and Dawn Avenue, area should check their vehicles and garages as police seized a number of items and would like to return them to their rightful owner.

Two 18-year-old Guelph males have been charged with possession of stolen property and possession of break in instruments. Both have been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 10, 2014.


Impaired driver - arrest

On June 10, 2014 at 12:44 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle in the Grange Road area after a report that the driver may be impaired. Police investigation determined that the male driver was impaired and he was arrested.

Terry PFAFF, 56 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on July 18, 2014.


Prohibited driver arrested

On June 9, 2014 at 9:32 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on McCrea Boulevard. Investigation revealed that the male drive was prohibited from driving a motor vehicle and he was arrested.

Sean NICHOLSON, 42 years of Guelph has been charged with two counts of drive while disqualified - Criminal Code and Drive while under suspension Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on July 18, 2014.


Project Lifesaver works again

On June 9, 2014 at 11:42 a.m., the Guelph Police received a call about a missing elderly female with Alzheimers. This female is enrolled in Project Lifesaver, so police used the tracking device. She was located at 11:57 a.m. safe and sound.


Car scratched arrest made

On June 10, 2014 at 2:15 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Woolwich Street area after receiving a call about a man that was seen scratching a parked car. Police located the man nearby and arrested him. This appears to have been a random act as the man and the owner of the car are not known to each other. The damage to the car is estimated at approximately $1,500.

A 27-year-old Guelph man has been charged with mischief under $5,000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 11, 2014.


Break and enter

On June 10, 2014, the Guelph Police went to a Brentwood Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime between 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and stole cash and coins.

Tim Horton's Camp Day was a big success

With coffee cups in hand, Tim Horton's guests and restaurant owners from across North America came together to raise $11.8 million during this year's Camp Day on Wednesday, June 4. All funds raised will make the opportunity to attend camp a reality for more than 17,000 kids from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Guelph Police had 34 of its members assist for a portion of that day at 12 Tim Horton's locations around Guelph. The generosity of the Guelph community that we saw truly shows what a great city Guelph is.
