Theft from cars

On June 17, 2014 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents reporting thefts from their cars. The locations were Verney Street and Cox Court.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars and by keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle. Impaired driver arrest

On June 18, 2014 at 2:58 p.m., the Guelph Police were advised of a motor vehicle driving on Speedvale Avenue with only one front tire. The vehicle was located at Woodlawn Road and Nicklin Road. Police investigation determined that the male driver was impaired and he was arrested.

Aaron FLEET, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on July 8, 2014.

Child Attacked by Dog

On June 19, 2014, members of the Guelph Police, Guelph Fire, GWEMS and the Humane Society attended to a Vanier Drive residence in response to a two year old that was attacked by a dog.

The two year old child sustained injuries to the right ear, left upper arm and puncture wounds to the upper back and to the stomach.

The youth was transported to the Guelph General Hospital for treatment and then was transported to McMaster Hospital in Hamilton.

The dog, a Great Dane, was being walked by a relative of the child when the attack happened. The owners of the dog were at work and not present.

The dog was removed from the scene by the Humane Society. Dog owners are reminded that it is their responsibility to have control of animals at all times.

Break and enter

On June 18, 2014, the Guelph Police went to a Cole Road residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a patio door. The theft of electronics and a high end mountain bike is reported.

Break and enter

On June 18, 2014, the Guelph Police went to an Elora Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a side window. The theft of computers is reported.

Vehicles entered, arrest made

On June 19, 2014 at 3:28 a.m., the Guelph Police went to the area of Kron Drive to investigate the report of youths going through vehicles. Police were able to locate the group and an arrest was made.

A 15 year old Guelph male has been charged with breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
