Robbery

On July 14, 2014, at 11:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a fast food establishment on Stone Road across from the Stone Road Mall to investigate a robbery. It is alleged that three men committed the robbery at knifepoint. The store employee was forcibly confined and sustained injuries but did not require hospitalization. A quantity of cash was stolen.

The suspects are described as slim build, 5'8" to 5'10", in their early twenties. Two were black and one was of either Caucasian or Hispanic ethnicity.

Assault

On July 14, 2014 at 10:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Wyndham Street North address after receiving the report of an assault. It is alleged that the caller had observed a man attempt to have his dog attack another man.

The caller was then struck in the face several times by the man with the dog. Police attempted to arrest the man at the scene. He began kicking, punching and attempted to bite officers before he was finally arrested.

A 51-year-old Guelph man has been charged with assault peace officer, assault with a weapon and assault. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 15, 2014.

Theft from cars

The Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents reporting thefts from their cars on July 14, 2014. The locations were Silvercreek Parkway North and Clinton Street.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars and by keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle. Break and enter

On July 14, 2014, the Guelph Police went to a Kathleen Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the garage sometime overnight and stole a tool box.
