OPP Charge Impaired Driver On Woodlawn Road

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) On July 13, 2014 at approximately 2:24 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2008 Dodge Charger that was being operated aggressively on Woodlawn Road near the Hanlon Expressway in the City of Guelph.

Upon speaking with the driver police discovered that he had been drinking and showed signs of impairment. After completing field sobriety testing officers determined that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by the consumption of alcohol and he was arrested and transported to the Centre Wellington Operation Centre for further testing.

The Administrative Drivers' Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.

Guy WILKINS aged 28 of Cambridge has been charged with Over 80 MGS and Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 1, 2014 to answer to the charges.
