MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) - On Tuesday July 15, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to Midwestern Equipment located along Hwy 23 north of Listowel where a theft of equipment was discovered.

Investigation revealed that sometime between 5:30 p.m. Monday July 14, 2014 and 7 a.m. Tuesday July 15, 2014, unknown suspect(s) cut two fence posts and fence cables on the north side of the business allowing vehicular access onto the property.

A company trailer, a Kubota Rugged Terrain Vehicle (RTV), and a Kubota lawn tractor were removed from the property. The total value of the stolen property is $35,000

Description of stolen property: Mill Road aluminum tandem trailer, Kubota (RTV) X1100C, orange in colour, and a Kubota ZD326 RP-60R lawn tractor orange in colour.

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) - On Tuesday July 22, 2014 around 3:30 a.m. an officer with the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting patrols on Perth Road 119 in the Village of Brunner when a car was observed travelling at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer utilized police radar and determined the car's speed to be 155 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. (This is 95 km/h above the posted speed limit).

The car was pulled over by the officer and the offending motorist, a 20 year old male from Langley BC was charged with "race a motor vehicle". He is scheduled to appear in Stratford court on August 26, 2014 to answer to this charge. His driver's licence was suspended for seven days, and his rental car has been impounded for a week.

The Perth County OPP will continue to target impaired, aggressive and suspended drivers. Citizens are urged to contact police immediately if they witness or suspect an impaired driver. The OPP can be reached anytime anywhere within the Province of Ontario at 1-888-310-1122.



(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) - On Saturday afternoon July 19, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were contacted by a Listowel resident who reported observing a bicycle which matched the description of his stolen bike.

Investigation confirmed that the victim's bike had been stolen in May of this year. A short time later, officers located a male riding the bicycle on Main St. East in Listowel.

Matthew EVANGELHO (27) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with "possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000" contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Listowel on September 03, 2014 to answer to this charge.
