Three-car collision

On July 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., the Guelph Police Traffic Division went to a three-car personal injury collision at 635 Woodlawn Road West. A Kitchener man driving a GMC van westbound on Woodlawn, struck the rear of a Toyota Corolla sending it into the side of a Shuttle van which was stopped in the driveway of a dealership.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla was transported to Guelph General Hospital by Guelph Wellington EMS for a sore left shoulder. All three vehicles were demolished with an estimated value in excess of $11,000. The male driver from Kitchener was charged with careless driving and driving while crowded. He will appear in court in September.

Damaged vehicles

On January 23, 2014, the Guelph Police went businesses on Fair Road and Arrow Road to investigate the complaint that trucks on their properties had windows smashed sometime overnight.

Break and enter

On July 23, 2014 at 6:10 p.m., the Guelph Police received a break and enter report from a Delmar Boulevard home. They advised that their garage was entered sometime between Monday evening and Wednesday. The theft of meat products from the freezer is reported.

Drive over 80 mg - arrest

On July 23, 2014 at 7:46 p.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver in the area of Speedvale Avenue West. The driver and vehicle were located on Glenwood Avenue and a traffic stop was conducted. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Arthur Hoekstra, 68 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on August 5, 2014.

Theft from cars

On July 23, 2014, the Guelph Police received five reports from Guelph residents reporting thefts from their cars. The locations were Wyndham Street South, Queen Street, Westwood Road, Porter Drive and Candlewood Drive.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars and by keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle. Bikes stolen

On July 23, 2014, the Guelph Police received a report from 785 York Road that two bicycles were stolen from the property.
