Recall - Tommee Tippee Monitor Movement Sensor Pad

This recall involves two models of Tommee Tippee Monitor with Movement Sensor Pads. Models 1082S and 1094S are affected by this recall. Both models come with a detachable sensor pad that fits under a crib mattress. Model 10964S includes a night-vision video camera.

Joint recall with Health Canada, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (US CPSC) and Mayborn USA, Inc.

The cord attached to the baby monitor's sensor pad poses a strangulation risk if the child pulls the cord into the crib and it becomes wrapped around the neck.

Mayborn USA, Inc. has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the sensor pad cord. Health Canada has not received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of the product.

In Canada, the recalled products were sold from November 2011 to present. A total of 3,628 recalled products were sold in Canada through Babies R Us Canada. Approximately 25,000 of the recalled products were sold in the United States.

The affected product was manufactured in China and imported through Mayborn USA, Inc., Norwood, Massachusetts.

Consumers should immediately make sure cords are placed out of reach of the child and contact Mayborn USA, Inc. toll-free at 1-866-214-1537 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday, or visit Tommee Tippee's website to order a a cord cover kit.

This kit includes rigid protective cord covers through which the sensor pad cords can be threaded, a new, permanent electric cord warning label about the strangulation risk, and revised instructions.
