THEFT OF GENERATOR FROM BACK OF TRUCK

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) - On Saturday July 26, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to an Inkerman St. East residence in Listowel in response to a reported theft of a generator.

Investigation indicated that sometime between 10 p.m. Friday July 25, and 7 a.m. Saturday July 26, 2014 an unknown person(s) removed a red Coleman 1500-2000 CC generator (with a black handle) from the bed of a pickup truck. The pickup truck had been parked in a residential driveway.

Anyone with information about the theft of this generator or who knows the generator's whereabouts is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. RACING DRIVER NOW WALKING

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) - On Friday afternoon July 25, 2014, shortly after 1:30 p.m. an officer with the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting patrols on Perth Road 119 east of the Village of Brunner, when a car was observed travelling at an extremely high rate of speed. The officer utilized police radar and determined the car's speed to be 142 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. (This is 62 km/h above the posted speed limit).

The car was pulled over by the officer and the offending motorist, an 18 year old female from Stratford was charged with "race a motor vehicle". She is scheduled to appear in Stratford court on August 26, 2014 to answer to this charge. Her driver's licence has been suspended for seven days, and her car has been impounded for a week.

The Perth County OPP will continue to target impaired, aggressive and suspended drivers. Citizens are urged to contact police immediately if they witness or suspect an impaired driver. The OPP can be reached anytime anywhere within the Province of Ontario at 1-888-310-1122.

EQUIPMENT STOLEN FROM DEALERSHIP

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) - On Monday July 28, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to HURON TRACTOR SALES, an agricultural farm implement dealer located on Perth Line 44 in Bornholm, where the theft of equipment was discovered.

Investigation revealed that sometime between Friday evening July 25, 2014, and Monday morning July 28, 2014, unknown suspects removed two display tractors from the front lawn of the property (along Perth Line 44).

Equipment description: 2013 John Deere commercial zero turn mower, Model JDZ930R, and 2014 John Deere compact utility tractor, Model JD1025R

A large vehicle or flat-bed trailer would have been required to remove this equipment. The Perth County OPP is requesting the public's assistance in locating the stolen tractors or providing any information that will help to identify the persons responsible for this theft.

EARLY SUNDAY MORNING SPEEDER CHARGED

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) - On Sunday July 27, 2014 shortly after 8 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a speeding pickup truck travelling on Hwy 23 south of Listowel. The officer utilized police radar and determined the truck was travelling in excess of the posted 80 km/h speed limit.

While speaking with the driver the officer determined that the driver had been drinking alcoholic beverages. The officer administered a roadside breath test on the driver which registered a blood alcohol concentration (B.A.C.) reading from .05 to .08.

The 22 year old male from the Municipality of North Perth had his driver's licence seized and it has subsequently been suspended for 3 days. He was also issued a speeding ticket.

DRIVER OF SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE FOUND TO BE IMPAIRED

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) - On Friday July 25, 2014 shortly after 10 p.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers on patrol along Line 21 near Cromarty, observed a suspicious pickup truck in a laneway. The truck drove away and was stopped by the officer.

The male driver of the truck, while being spoken to by the officer displayed signs of impairment. The male was arrested and transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he was to provide samples of his breath into an Intoxilyzer. Upon arrival at the detachment, the male refused to supply samples of his breath.

Jerry HOPF (33) of the Municipality of West Perth has been charged with "driving while ability impaired", and "fail or refuse to provide sample", these charges are both contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He is to appear at the Stratford Court of Justice on September 08, 2014 to answer to these charges. He was also issued a 90 day driver's licence suspension and the pickup truck he was operating was impounded for seven days.
