Tentative Agreement Reached with AMAPCEO

Web posted on August 05, 2014

Ontario has reached a tentative four-year collective agreement with the Association of Management, Administrative and Professional Crown Employees of Ontario (AMAPCEO).

AMAPCEO represents more than 10,000 Ontario Public Service employees in a broad range of professional and administrative positions. The previous collective agreement with AMAPCEO expired on March 31, 2014.

The negotiated agreement was reached by both sides coming to the table and working co-operatively. The tentative agreement fits within the fiscal plan as outlined in the 2014 Budget, which includes no new funding for compensation increases. This agreement, if ratified, will support the government's ongoing efforts to eliminate the deficit while protecting the valued public services Ontario families rely on.

"I want to thank AMAPCEO for working with us at the bargaining table to reach this tentative agreement. This agreement shows that when partners commit to work together to negotiate, the result can be both fair and responsible for our employees and Ontario families alike." Deb Matthews, President of the Treasury Board.

The Ontario government and AMAPCEO must ratify the tentative agreement before details can be released.
