The S.I.U. Invoke Mandate - August 05, 2014

On August 2, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., Guelph Police officers went to a Guelph residence for a family problem. The officers assisted in locating a young male. As a result of a brief interaction with police, the youth suffered an injury that met the definition of serious injury under the Regulation of the Police Services Act.

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit was notified and the S.I.U. has invoked their mandate. As usual, the Guelph Police will co-operate fully with the S.I.U. investigation.

As regulated by the Police Services Act the S.I.U. will issue any further media releases on this matter until such time as a decision is rendered by the S.I.U.
