Perth County OPP Report - August13, 2014

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) - On Tuesday August 12, 2014, shortly after 10:35 a.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a collision involving a motorcycle and a bicycle on Road 111, north of Line 34 (Hwy7/8).

Investigation revealed that a south bound Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by a 61 year old male, a resident of the Township of Perth East, collided with a bicycle. The bicycle was being ridden by a 26 year old male, a resident of Stratford.

The impact caused both males to be ejected onto the roadway resulting in injuries to both of them. They were both transported to a local hospital with major injuries. The male operating the bicycle has since been transported to a London hospital.

Road 111 between Line 34 and Perth Line 37 has been closed since the time of the collision and is expected to remain closed until approximately 4:30 p.m. The closure is enabling the Perth County OPP and the OPP Western Region Traffic Collision Investigation Unit to safely investigate this crash.
