BICYCLE STOLEN FROM BACK PATIO

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Monday evening August 18, 2014, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a Barber Ave. North residence in Listowel, where a $1,000 bicycle was stolen from a rear patio.

Police investigation revealed that the victim placed his bike on the rear patio of the residence at 9 p.m. on Monday August 18th. When he returned 40 minutes later the bike was gone.

The bicycle is described as being black in colour, men's adult 18 speed HUTCH THRUST Mountain bike (dirt jumper style). "Hutch" is written in white letters on the lower cross bar. A bell is located on the handle bars, it is described as a having a chrome top with a grey plastic bottom.

Anyone who may have seen someone on this bicycle on Monday evening or who knows where the bike can be located, is requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122. CURFEW LEGISLATION UTILIZED - YOUTH APPREHENDED

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Wednesday August 20, 2014, at 2:20 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol observed two female youth walking along Inkerman St. West near Victoria Ave. North in Listowel.

The officer determined that one of the girls was 16 while the other was 15 year of age. The 15 year old girl was apprehended and transported to the North Perth OPP Detachment in Listowel. Her mother was contacted and advised to pick up her daughter.

Upon handing the girl over to her mother, the officer informed her that he was enforcing a provincial curfew under authority of the provincial Child and Family Services Act. This curfew states that; children under the age of 16, found in a public place or in a place of public entertainment between midnight and 6 a.m., without an authorized responsible adult, will be picked up by police. The parent or guardian will then be contacted to retrieve the child.

Parents, the onus is on you to know where your children are at all times, and if they are staying at friends, be sure this is communicated between parents so you know this to be the case.

SENSELESS DAMAGE TO CHAPEL

(ST.MARYS, ON) On Thursday August 14, 2014, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to the Westover Inn on Thomas St. in St.Marys, where a break-in to the Westover Inn Chapel was discovered.

Investigation revealed that sometime between Tuesday August 12th and Thursday morning August 14th, unknown person(s) forced open the front door of the chapel which is located on the south west edge of the Westover Inn property. Once inside, the culprit(s) smashed the large marble altar onto the ground and window ledges were broken. Electrical boxes and poles on the outside of the chapel were also damaged.

SERIOUS HEAD-ON COLLISION SOUTH OF MITCHELL

(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Friday August 15, 2014, at 5:20 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a serious head-on collision on Hwy 23 north of Line 24, south of Mitchell.

Investigation revealed that a Chevy Equinox travelling south bound on Hwy 23 collided with a Dodge Caravan travelling north bound. The vehicles collided in the north bound lane. The impact resulted in the three occupants of the Equinox as well as the four occupants of the Caravan having to be transported to hospital.

One of the Equinox passengers, an adult male was transported from the scene by air-ambulance to a London hospital with major injuries. The adult male driver of the Equinox and another adult male passenger were transported to a local hospital by land ambulance with minor injuries.

The four occupants of the Caravan, all residents of London, were transported to local hospitals by land ambulance. The adult male driver and the adult female passenger sustained minor injuries. An infant passenger was transported to local hospital, but has since been transported by air ambulance to a London hospital. A toddler passenger has also been transported from the local hospital by land ambulance to a London hospital.

Hwy 23 between Line 26 and Perth Line 20 is expected to remains closed to traffic until approximately 11 p.m. This closure will allow the highway to be cleared of debris, and it will allow the Perth County OPP and the OPP Western Region Traffic Collision Investigation Unit to safely investigate the collision.

THEFT OF DUMP TRAILER

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to attend at an address located west of Shakespeare along Hwy 7/8 where a construction dump trailer was reported stolen.

Investigation indicated that sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday August 15, 2014 an unknown person(s) hooked up a vehicle to the dump trailer and drove it away from the scene. At the time of the theft the trailer was parked at a construction job site located on the south side of Hwy 7/8, between Road 108 and Road 109.

Description of trailer: Make a CAM "Superline" ten ton trailer, 6' x 12' steel dump box approximately 5' tall, Black in colour with double axle, Roll up tarp cover attachment at the front of the box, White spare tire on the front of the box, Ontario trailer plate K9657R attached to the back, VIN # 5JPBU1628DP031253, and White and red safety stripes along both sides of the entire box and tongue

TOOLS STOLEN FROM BACK OF PICKUP TRUCK

(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday August 15, 2014, the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call from a Palmerston resident who advised that tools had been stolen from the back of his work truck while it was parked in Listowel.

Investigation revealed that between 6 p.m. Thursday August 14th and 6 a.m. Friday August 15th an F150 Ford pickup truck with a cap on the box had been left parked on a driveway of a residence on Inkerman St. East in Listowel. The cap of the truck was left unlocked while tools were left in the box.

Description of stolen tools: DeWalt skill saw Model DSE575 (yellow in colour), Hilty reciprocating saw Model WSR100 (red in colour), and Milwaukee steel sheer (red in colour)
