Recall - Michael's Poinsettia Stems and Bushes

This recall involves artificial poinsettia flowers sold in single stems and bushes under Michaels' private brand Ashland. The poinsettia has red leaves, green stems and gold-coloured accents in the centre of the leaves. The white UPC sticker affixed to the product has SKU number 426328 on the single stem and SKU number 424066 on the bush.

Aspergillus mold was found on some of the products, posing a risk of respiratory or other infections in individuals with chronic health problems or weakened immune systems. Consumers should immediately stop using the artificial poinsettia stems & bushes and contact Michaels for a refund.

Neither Health Canada nor The Michaels Companies, Inc. has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product. No incidents have been reported in the United States.

The recalled products were sold from October 2015 to November 2015 in Canada and the United States. Approximately 6,600 were sold in Canada, and approximately 425,000 units were distributed in the United States.

The affected product was manufactured in China by Fu Shing Silk Flower Industrial Limited Hong Kong, China. and distributed through Michaels Stores Procurement Company, Inc., Irving, Texas, United States.
