BREAK AND ENTER OVERNIGHT

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County detachment is investigating a Break and Enter with Theft at an address on Sideroad 7 West in the Township of Wellington North. On April 15, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m. police received a call that unknown suspect(s) had broken into an apartment at the residence as well as a shed at the property.

Suspect(s) appeared to have entered the apartment sometime between 11:00 p.m. April 14, 2017 and 12:00 p.m. April 15, 2017 by forcing open a man door and a garage door of the building. The shed appeared to have a hole dug under a large door to gain entry.

Stolen items include:
* LA135 John Deere riding lawnmower
* LG Washer and Dryer
* 46" Dynex TV
* Xbox 360
* 6" Tanto blade knife
* Gerber machete
* Kershaw folding knife
* Douke Douke pocket knife
* Grizzly 177 pellet gun
* 177 revolver style CO2 pellet gun

DRUNK DRIVER CRASHES, NO INJURIES

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On Sunday April 16, 2017 at approximately 12:30 a.m. the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a single vehicle collision. It was reported that a grey van was squealing its tires before losing control and striking a hydro pole. The van was damaged and last seen driving way from the crash scene on Smith Street, Arthur.

Police located and stopped the damaged Grey Ford Windstar northbound on Highway 6. While speaking with the male driver officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

18-year-old Braedon Parker REEVES-COBURN of Mount Forest has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code. He was also charged with Fail to Remain, Fail to report Damages to Property and with Novice Driver with Alcohol Level Above zero contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 19, 2017.

Neither the driver nor any of his passengers were injured.

CASH STOLEN IN BREAK AND ENTER

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County detachment is investigating a Break and Enter with Theft at an address on Highway 23, Town of Minto.

Suspect(s) appeared to have entered the home with a spare key that had been hidden at the property. Unknown suspect(s) stole approximately $800 in cash. It is believed the break and enter occurred between 5:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on April 14, 2017.

GIRL APPROACHED BY NUDE MALE

(TOWNSHIP OF WELLINGTON NORTH, ON) - On April 15, 2017, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an indecent act occurring on Concession Road 8 in the Township of Wellington North, just east of Mount Forest.

At approximately 9:30 a.m. two males in a dark blue pick-up truck approached an 8-year-old girl while she was on her bike. They asked to her to come to the truck and when she began riding away, the passenger got out of the truck and he was naked. The male asked her again to come to the truck but she rode away safely to a neighbour's home. The nude male was described as white with white hair and beard.

DRUNK DRIVER STOPPED IN RIDE CHECK

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) - On April 14, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) Check on School Road 7 in the Town of Minto, west of Harriston. At approximately 8:15 p.m. the driver of a White Ford F150 pick-up truck entered the R.I.D.E. check.

While speaking with the male driver officers formed the opinion that he was under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. Investigations also revealed the driver was wanted on warrants and was driving without a licence. He was arrested and brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.

39-year-old Bradley POPP of North Perth has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code and with Driving without a Licence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He was held for Bail Court in Guelph.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE

(TOWNSHIP OF MINTO, ON) - On April 10, 2017, members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a vehicle being entered on James Street in the Town of Palmerston.

Suspect(s) entered the unlocked vehicle sometime prior to April 7, 2017 and stole documents.

The OPP would like to use this opportunity remind everyone about the LOCK IT OR LOSE IT campaign. It is a crime prevention program that reminds the public to lock their vehicles and to remove the valuables and keys from within. This helps reduce the motivation and likelihood of property crimes. If you do suspect that your vehicle has been entered please report it.
