SIU Invokes Manadate In After Injury During Arrest

(WEST PERTH, ON) - Early this morning around 12:13 a.m. members from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on Road 164 (Highway 23) near Bornholm. The driver fled from police and approximately six hours later he was spotted by police travelling into Middlesex County.

The suspect vehicle was stopped just north of London and the driver fled on foot. Officers located the male driver and he was taken into custody. During the interaction with police the male sustained an injury. He was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment.

The province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has been notified as a result of the interaction and has invoked its mandate. Further inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
