Robbery charges

At approximately 4:20am on May 17, 2017, two males pushed their way into a Waverly Drive apartment with their faces covered and armed with a knife. Once inside, the two occupants of the apartment were forced to stay in one place while property was taken from inside. The two suspects fled on foot and police were called to investigate.

This was a targeted incident by the two suspects and police were able to learn their identities. At approximately 3:13am today, the two suspects surrendered themselves to police without incident when they learned that they were wanted.

The 18 year old and 20 year old Guelph males are charged with robbery, weapons dangerous to the public peace, wear a disguise and assault with a weapon. Both were held in custody and will appear in bail court today.

Vehicle damaged

On May 17th at approximately 5:25pm, a man had just arrived at a York Road address and exited his car when he was approached by another male that he did not know. The male grew increasingly agitated for some unknown reason and then picked up a large rock and threw it at the car causing almost $1000 damage. The male walked away and police were called to investigate.

Police searched the area and located the male a short distance away and arrested him for mischief. The 26 year old Guelph man was further charged with breach of probation and held in custody to appear in bail court.
