Web posted on July 12, 2017

GUELPH, Ontario, July 2017 The City's Emergency Services are left in good hands as general manager of Emergency Services, Andy MacDonald, completes his contract with the City of Guelph.

MacDonald stepped in as interim general manager of Emergency Services and fire chief in November of 2015 after the departure of Fire Chief Shawn Armstrong.

"Andy's thorough, first-hand knowledge of fire and paramedic services, and senior management experience in municipal government made him the perfect choice to help set a firm leadership foundation in both these divisions," said Colleen Clack, deputy CAO for the City of Guelph.

"With Fire Chief John Osborne, and Chief, Guelph-Wellington Paramedic Service, Stephen Dewar now firmly in place, we thank Andy for his leadership and dedication to ensuring the City's emergency services are left in good hands," added Clack.

MacDonald's last day is September 29.
