MULTIPLE THEFTS OF VEHICLES IN WELLINGTON COUNTY

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) - On the morning of Friday July 21, 2017 the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a theft of a white 2005 Ford F150 pickup truck from Watson Road South, Puslinch. It was stolen sometime overnight and was bearing Ontario marker #1714FE. The keys were in the vehicle.

On the morning of Sunday July 23, 2017 OPP responded to a report of a theft of a white 2013 Ford F150 pickup truck from Maltby Road East, Puslinch. It was stolen sometime overnight and the keys were in the vehicle. On Tuesday July 25, 2017 members of the OPP located the vehicle abandoned on Watson Road South, near Arkell. There was no apparent damage to the vehicle however the Ontario licence plates, #ALLBECUZ, are still missing

On Tuesday July 25, 2017 OPP responded to a report of a theft of a white 2008 Chevrolet Express Van from Highway 6, north of Guelph. It was stolen sometime between Jul 22, 2017 and July 25, 2017 and was bearing Ontario marker #AL77864. On Wednesday July 26, 2017 the vehicle was recovered on Speedvale Ave. West, in the city of Guelph.

As seen in an earlier release On July 26, 2017 at approximately 3:35 a.m., OPP responded to a report of a truck stolen from a residence on Jones Baseline, Township of Centre Wellington. The owner interrupted at least two unknown males in the process of stealing two trucks from the property.

The males fled the scene in one of the trucks heading northbound on Jones Baseline. The vehicle, a white 2007 Dodge 2500 mega cab pick-up truck, was recovered on Schuett Road in Ariss. There was no apparent damage to the vehicle; however, the Ontario licence plates #AK33374 are still missing.

RACING CHARGES

(COUNTY OF WELLINGTON, ON) - On July 28, 2017 at approximately 3:00 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on the Hanlon Parkway, near Stone Road, City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a Mitsubishi Outlander travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 112 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

32-year-old Ahmad ALHILAL of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 6, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute. He was also charged with Possess Unmarked Cigarettes contrary to the Tobacco Tax Act.

On July 28, 2017 at approximately 2:00 p.m. a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on County Road 12, Township of Mapleton. The officer observed a male driving a Honda Civic travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

A 17-year-old youth from Mapleton was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 6, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

On July 30, 2017 at approximately 9:45 a.m. a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6, South of Arthur in Mapleton Township. The officer observed a male driving a Chevrolet Truck travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

20-year-old Luis RAMOS was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on September 6, 2017. His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
