THEFT OF TRANSPORT TRUCK TRAILER

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating the theft of a 53' transport truck trailer that was parked at Ice River Springs located on Grey Rd. 2 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

The 2006 white 53' trailer with a tri-axel, VIN: 2MN01JAH361005955, bearing Ontario plate P3710L, was stolen from the parking lot sometime between July 5 and July 20th.

HISTORICAL SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) - The Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit is investigating a historical sexual assault. The investigation commenced in October 2016. Through the course of the investigation, it has been determined that between December 1, 2007 and December 31, 2007, alleged sexual related offences against a minor took place at a residence on Sykes Street North in the Municipality of Meaford.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of 45-year old David William BENSON, of no fixed address. BENSON, formerly of Meaford, is charged with sexual assault and invitation to sexual touching - person under the age of fourteen years.

Police believe there may be other victims. Anyone who may have been a victim of sexually related offences with respect to this individual, or anyone having information as to his whereabouts, is asked to contact the Grey County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

POLICE INVESTIGATING OVERNIGHT THEFT

(CARRICK TWP, ON) - On July 25, 2017 at 11:05 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a rural property in the 500 block of Bruce County Road 6 in Carrick Township. Sometime between 11:00 p.m. on July 24, 2017 and 11:00 a.m. on July 25, 2017, a Western-style leather saddle and a Red Champion generator were taken. The value of the stolen items is estimated to be more than $1,300.

IMPAIRED DRIVER CAUGHT SPEEDING

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) - On July 20, 2017 at 10:28 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along South Kinloss Avenue in Kinloss Township observed a Beige Ford F150 moving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle's speed was more than 130 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The truck was stopped and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol.

Twenty-five-year old Derreck CAMPBELL of Morris-Turnberry Township was charged with operate over 80 milligrams, possess a controlled substance, drive with open liquor and race a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 16, 2017 to answer to the charges.

DRIVER WILL TRY WALKING FOR 7 DAYS

(TIVERTON, ON) - On July 20, 2017 at 7:35 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along King Street, Tiverton observed a Red Dodge Ram moving at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle's speed was more than 100 km/h in a posted 50 km/h zone. The driver, 21-year-old Ryan HOPCROFT of Saugeen Shores, was charged with stunt driving. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 15, 2017 to answer to the charge.

MISSING PERSON TUBING ON THE BEAVER RIVER LOCATED SAFE

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - A 35-year old male who had been reported missing to police last night has returned to his residence in the Municipality of Meaford.

The male was last seen around 8:00 p.m. on July 29, 2017 standing on the west side of the Beaver River between Access Point 1 and Access Point 2 located on Grey Rd. 13 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

He was tubing on the river with four other people when he became separated from the group. The male was reported missing shortly after 10:00 p.m. when he failed to meet the others at their rendezvous point.

Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), West Region Canine Unit, Grey County OPP Marine Unit, as well as the Blue Mountains Fire Department, searched for the missing male.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. this morning, July 30, 2017, police received information that the male had returned to his residence.

Police attended the residence to check on his well-being. He was transported to hospital via ambulance as a precaution for hypothermia.

EXCESSIVE SPEED - HWY 10 - VEHICLE IMPOUNDED

(TOWNSHIP OF CHATSWORTH, ON) - On July 30, 2017 at approximately 7:16 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2016 Hyundai Sonata vehicle for travelling at a high rate of speed southbound on Hwy. 10 near Thistlewood Rd. in the Township of Chatsworth after a radar reading of 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

22-year old Ajay KISHAN of Caledon, Ontario was issued a Part III Summons for racing - speeding more than 50 km/hr over the posted 80 km/hr speed limit under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA). He was given a 7-day driver's licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

H is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on August 17, 2017.

SINGLE VEHICLE COLLISION - DRIVER IMPAIRED

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) - On July 30, 2017 at approximately 7:30 p.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Grey Rd. 32 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands.

Police found that a 2009 Dodge Journey vehicle left the roadway and struck some bushes on Grey Rd. 32. The lone driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested for impaired driving and transported to Chatsworth OPP Detachment for breath tests which he failed.

Corey Gerard EVANS, 25 years old, of Grey Highlands was charged with Driving with More than 80 mgs of alcohol in his blood.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on August 17, 2017.

POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN PICK-UP

(KINLOSS TWP, ON) - On July 24, 2017 at 2:03 a.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a theft report from a residence along Wolfe Street in Kinloss Township. At 2:00 a.m., the home owner was awakened by a noise and discovered a Red Dodge Ram 2500 diesel pick-up truck with licence #AL10921 had been taken. The value of the stolen truck is estimated to be $15,000.
