Fraud arrest

In October of 2015, a Guelph business contacted the GPS Fraud Unit concerning an internal fraud/theft. They alleged that a manager of the business had been pocketing sales from sales transactions and altering business records to conceal his activities.

An investigation was ongoing from that date and the company alleges that their employee had defrauded them of revenue and inventory worth over $380,000.

Guelph Police fraud officers conducted further investigation and as a result, John FABIANIAK, a 38 year old Guelph man, was arrested on September 20, 2017 for fraud over $5000 and theft by a person required to account. He was released on a promise to appear with a court date of October 31, 2017.

Male to locate

On September 20, 2017 Guelph Police investigated the report of a suspicious male in a car that appeared to be watching children in the playground behind 87 Neeve Street at approximately 7:00 p.m. When approached by a parent, the male left the area.

The car is described as a four door Toyota, gold in colour. The licence plate had blue along the top of it and there was a red symbol to the left of the numbers.

The man is described as white, approximately 60 years, with some scruffy facial hair, grey hair and was wearing sun glasses.

Police would like to speak with this man in regard to this incident.

Stolen vehicle

On Tuesday September 20th around 17:00 hours, a female entered the change room of a south end fitness facility and took the keys to a silver Honda Odyssey from a locker of one of the patrons. The female then located the vehicle in the parking lot and took the van.

Break and enters

Police investigated six break and enter incidents during the last 24 hours. Four involved entry through either an unlocked door or window where cash, a bicycle and personal property were reported taken.
