Attempt robbery

At approximately 1am this morning, a male walked up to group of people on Glasgow Street and showed what appeared to be the handle of a handgun that was tucked in his waistband of his pants. The male demanded that the group open the trunk of their car.

When it was found there was nothing to be taken, the male quickly fled on foot. The area was searched by police and the male was not located.

The male is described as unshaven, approximately 5'8"- 5'11" tall wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head carrying a small red zip-up lunch bag with a black strap.

Tent fire

Just before 2am today, police we called to the area of York Road and Victoria Road where a 22 year old female was discovered to have been burned in a fire. It was learned that she and other people were living in a tent in a brushed area that apparently caught fire when an unattended candle burned down and ignited the tent. She was transported to the hospital to treat some burns to her hands and arms.

Wanted Person

Guelph Police are currently looking for 33 year old Randall Cormier for several criminal offences, including attempt murder and multiple breaches of probation / recognizance. Cormier is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

The victim in this incident is an adult female, who is not in a domestic relationship with Cormier and did not suffer any serious injuries. No further information will be released at this time to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Request for witnesses to collision

On the 23rd of September 2017, police were investigating a fatal collision and were diverting traffic in the area. During that re-routing, at approximately 8:12pm a small black compact sports type motor vehicle struck a black/orange Chevy pickup truck which was turning into the entrance of the apartment building located at 400 Waterloo Avenue.

The Chevy was occupied by a 47 year old male with 2 small children and there were no injuries sustained. The small black vehicle sped off after the impact, leaving the scene of the collision. The vehicle is described to have significant damage to the front area.
