IMPAIRED DRIVER STOPPED BY RIDE PROGRAM

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On November 25, 2017 approximately 1:30 a.m. Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the Hanlon Parkway near College Avenue, City of Guelph. At approximately 1:25 a 2007 Kia entered the R.I.D.E check.

While speaking with the male driver officers believed him to be driving while under the influence of alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Detachment for testing.

24-year-old Sergio FALKENBURGER of Kitchener, has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was also charged with Novice Driver with Blood-Alcohol above zero. A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. He is scheduled to attend Guelph Court on December 19, 2017.

RACING CHARGES - HANLON EXPRESSWAY

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Monday November 20, 2017 at approximately 10:30 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on The Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, 50 km/h over the posted limit.

20-year-old Noor Mohammed IMADAL-DEEN of Oakville has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 3, 2018.Her driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) - On Monday November 20, 2017 at approximately 12:00 p.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on The Hanlon Expressway, Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2009 Lexus sedan at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted 80 km/h speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 150 km/h, 70 km/h over the posted limit.

19-year-old Gursahib Singh SOHI of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 3, 2018.His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.

The vehicle was locked on radar in excess of 130 km/h, 50 km/h over the posted limit.

20-year-old Griffin Michael THEROUX of Kitchener has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 3, 2018.His driver's licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
