Crime Stoppers Celebrates 30 Years In Perth County

Web posted on January 11, 2018

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) - Perth County Crime Stoppers are celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2018. Since their inception in 1988, the organization is responsible for 747 arrests and 1130 charges. Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have been able to recover over $6.5 million worth of property and drugs based upon information derived from Crime Stoppers tips.

Perth County Crime Stoppers Program Co-ordinator, Provincial Constable Shawn McFalls, Perth County OPP explained that although tips continue to be received, the numbers could be significantly higher. "There are observations made by the public every day that still go unreported. Your information may be the missing piece that police have been searching for to complete an investigation."

Perth County Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization and relies upon donations and fund raising activities. The board of directors consists of committed volunteers from across Perth County. Openings currently exist and those interested are encouraged to call 226-303-4181 for more information on this meaningful volunteer opportunity. Everyone wants to live in safe community. This is only achieved when we all work together.

Thank you to the volunteers and to the members of the public who have made a call or have submitted a tip online. Thank you to each of the dedicated volunteers throughout the past 30 years who have remained committed to crime reduction in our neighbourhoods. You can help; if you see something, report it.

Submitting a tip has never been easier. Visit www.pc-crimestoppers.ca or call 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS). You may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
