FESTIVE RIDE CAMPAIGN AS MUCH ABOUT DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF DRUGS AS ALCOHOL

OPP Launches Festive RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) Campaign

(PERTH COUNTY, ON) - Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) always aim to make roads safe and this holiday season they'll aim a little higher. Members of the Perth County OPP are diving head first into Festive R.I.D.E (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere). While this year's campaign runs through to Jan 2, 2020 there won't be any procrastination as members are out in full force.

If you're a driver in North Perth, West Perth and Perth East, expect to see OPP initiating contact with users and reducing the number of impaired drivers. And while traditionally we think of alcohol impairing a driver, let's not forget that other drugs like marihuana or prescription medicine can also compromise someone's ability to drive.

Be a good neighbour and call 911 immediately if you suspect someone is driving impaired. You could end up saving a life.
