Guelph Police RIDE for holidays begins

Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit is now actively pursuing its hunt for impaired drivers.

The Festive RIDE kicked-off Saturday. More than 500 motorists were stopped and nine roadside tests were conducted.

Five of those tests resulted in a three-day driver's licence suspension being issued to the drivers who were found to have a BAC (blood alcohol content) between 50 mgs and 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 mls. of blood.

RIDE programs will continue at various locations throughout the city during holday season,

Police dvise to drink responsibly and if you drink, don't drive. Drivers are reminded that having any alcohol in your system, when operating a motor vehicle is a bad idea. Think ahead and plan your way home.
