DNA Evidence Leads To Arrest

On November 7th, 2017, at 2:16am, an adult male entered a gated and locked compound located near the intersection of Dunlop Drive and Watson Parkway South in the City of Guelph. The male then caused minor damage to the gas caps of two vehicles and attempted to puncture the gas line underneath one of the trucks causing it to leak fuel. The approximate value of the damage is $2,500-$4,000. The male also stole a pressure washer valued at $150.

Investigation discovered DNA at the scene and a hit was received from the National DNA Data Bank. An arrest warrant was then issued.

On February 4th, 2020, at 3:28pm, the male was arrested by the Hanover Police Service. He was then transported to the Guelph Police Service station.

A 39 year old West Grey male has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter And Commit
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 5th.

 

Silver Honda Element Entered Then Stolen

Some time between 3am and 4am on January 25th, 2020, a silver 2009 Honda Element parked outside a residence located near the intersection of Edinburgh Road North and Paisley Road in the City of Guelph was entered. A wallet was taken, and a credit card was then used at various locations. A spare key kept inside the vehicle was also taken.

Some time between 2pm and 6:50pm on February 4th, 2020, the vehicle parked outside the same residence was taken.

Male Arrested After Break In

On January 28th, 2020, between 12:38am and 1:11am an adult male entered a residence located near the intersection of Fife Road and Wellington Street West in the City of Guelph three times.

On February 4th, police located the male in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. Police attempted to arrest the male but he resisted and refused to comply. He was eventually placed under arrest. A search incident to arrest revealed the male was in possession of a credit card not belonging to him.

A 29 year old Guelph male has been charged with:

  • Break, Enter and Commit
  • Resist Arrest
  • Possession Of Credit Card
  • Breach Probation x3
  • Fail To Comply With Release Order

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 5th.
