Gray County OPP Reports - October 11, 2012

CAR FIRE INVESTIGATED
(CHATSWORTH, ON) On Monday, October 8, 2012 at approximately 4:11 a.m., Grey County Ontario Police (OPP) received a report of a car fire at Joe's Garage located on Hwy. 6 & 10, just south of Owen Sound, in the Municipality of Meaford.

Police arrived to find a1996 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck fully engulfed at the west end of the parking lot. Two vehicles which were parked on either side of the Chevrolet, an older Toyota Corolla was partially engulfed, and a 1995 Ford COF pick up truck, sustained heat damage as a result of the fire.

The Inter-Township Fire Department extinguished the car fires. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The Ontario Fire Marshall's Office was contacted.

MARIJUANA PLANTS DESTROYED
(CHATSWORTH, ON) On Friday, October 5, 2012, at approximately 10:06 a.m., Grey County Ontario Police (OPP) received a report of several marijuana plants found growing on a dilapidated rural property in the Township of Southgate.

Police attended and found over 700 marijuana plants on the property which were pulled and destroyed. The investigation continues.

Anyone with information which may assist is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-210-1122. Constable Agnes GUTKOWSKI is the investigating officer.
