Recall - Glion SmartScooter Model 100

This recall involves the Glion SmartScooter Model 100. The foldable electric scooters are aluminum and come in black or white. The scooters are powered by lithium-ion batteries and have a kickstand, two tires and a USB phone charger. "GLION" is printed on the standing board of the scooter. The scooters measure about 97 centimeters (38 inches) long, 14 centimeters (5.5 inches) wide and 115 centimeters (45 inches) tall when unfolded.

The frame of the scooter can break where the unit folds, posing a fall hazard.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled electric scooters and contact Probity Cell LLC for a free repair or a store credit toward the purchase of another product.

Neither Health Canada nor Probity Cell LLC has received any reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of these products in Canada. Probity Cell LLC has received three reports of the scooter's frame breaking, including one hip and elbow abrasion injury in the United States.

The affected scooters were sold from September 2014 to September 2015 through Glion Scooters' online site. 4 of the affected scooters were sold in Canada.

The affected product was manufactured in China and distributed Probity Cell LLC, Holdrege, Nebraska, United States.
