Woods Banner To Be Removed From Downtown

Web posted on June 07, 2017

Guelph, ON, June 5th - Due to the sensitivity around the Wood brothers banner currently on a lamppost on Norfolk Street, the DGBA will be removing it overnight.

DGBA Executive Director Marty Williams said "we heard from a lot of people who thought that the original banner was insensitive to the victims and their families. While that was never our intention, we understand their point of view and are sorry for any distress this may have caused".

The banners, titled `A Guelph Story', highlight a happening in Guelph for every year since Confederation. The idea of the project is to show people some of the events, places and people that have shaped Guelph. Visit for more.
