The Guelph Police Service would like to wish everyone in Guelph a happy and safe St. Patrick's Day

On St Patrick's Day and in the coming days, please keep in mind direction from Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health on preventing the spread of respiratory viruses, like COVID-19:

  • Wash your hands often with soap & water or with alcohol-based hand rub
  • Stay home if you're sick
  • Cover coughs & sneezes with a tissue or sleeve
  • Clean & disinfect high touch surfaces daily
  • Call ahead if visiting your health care provider for infectious symptoms so they can plan to protect others from spread
  • Engage in social distancing including avoiding non-essential trips inthe community and limiting, postponing or cancelling gatherings

Arrested After Failing To Attend Court Twice

On February 14th 2020, an adult female failed to attend court in regards to the following charges:

Trespass By Night

Possession Of Schedule I x2

Breach Probation x2

On February 28th, the female failed to attend court in regards to the following charges:

Possession Of Stolen Property Under $5,000 x2

Breach Probation x2

On March 16th, police located the female in a vehicle in a parkade located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph. She was subsequently arrested.

A 25 year old Guelph female has been additionally charged with:

Fail To Attend x2

She will appear in court on May 8

Warehouse Damaged During Commercial Break In

Some time between 9:30am on March 14thand 6:15am on March 16th, 2020, a business located near the intersection of Brant Avenue and Victoria Road North in the City of Guelph was entered. Nothing was taken however damage was caused to the warehouse portion of the business as a large portion was wrapped with industrial saran wrap and 45 gallon drums of bleach, foaming solution and cleaner were tipped over on the floor and into a drain.

Vehicle Damaged During Residential Break In

On March 14th, 2020, at 5:10am, a male entered the garage of a residence located near the intersection of Paisley Street and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph. The male then entered a vehicle inside the garage and lit a fire. The fire was contained inside the vehicle and went out on its own, however it did cause extensive damage to the interior of the vehicle.

The male then attended to the back of the residence and tried to gain access through the back door and windows. This woke up a resident who confronted the male and asked him to leave the property, which he did.

The resident did not notice the damage to the vehicle until they went to use it on March 16th. The incident was reported to the Guelph Police Service at that point.

Bank Cards Stolen From Vehicle And Used

Some time overnight on March 15th, 2020, a vehicle parked at a residence located near the intersection of Farley Drive and Clairfields Drive East in the City of Guelph was entered. Bank cards were taken and then used at various locations.
