Guelph Police reminder of emergency requirements

During this time period and as always, the Guelph Police Service will be open 24 hours a day to serve the community. However, to further help in preventing the transmission of COVID-19, the Guelph Police Service station located at 15 Wyndham Street South is closed for non-emergency services until further notice. In order to best protect our community and our members, please refrain from attending the station in person unless you have an emergency situation that cannot be dealt with over the phone at 519-824-1212.

Also, for everyone's safety, we request that members of the public remain mindful of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph (WDG) Public Health guidance in relation to physical distancing, and maintain a distance of 6 feet or 2 meters when interacting with officers.

The Guelph Police Service has recently been receiving numerous calls from members of the public in regards to concerns that people aren't following WDG Public Health physical distancing guidelines or the recommendation for 14 days of self-isolation after returning from travel, or if you have symptoms. We recommend that members of the public with these concerns please contact WDG Public Health at 1-800-265-7293 ext. 7006.

On March 23rd, 2020, the Ontario government announced it will order the mandatory closure of all non-essential workplaces (https://news.ontario.ca/opo/en/2020/03/ontario-orders-the-mandatory-closure-of-all-non-essential-workplaces-to-fight-spread-of-covid-19.html) effective March 24th at 11:59pm. This closure will be in effect for 14 days with the possibility of extending this order as the situation evolves.
