Store owner charged under non-essential ban

On March 26th, 2020, at 9:28am, a member of the Guelph Police Service observed an adult male customer exiting a non-essential business located near the intersection of Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph.
At 9:29am, a traffic stop was initiated with the male as he drove away. He confirmed that the business was in fact open and providing services.
At 9:46am, police returned to the business, however the door was now locked and there was no answer at the door.
The owner of the business will be issued a summons under the Emergency Management And Civil Protection Act.
A 48 year old Maple female will be charged with Fail To Comply With An Order Made During A Declared Emergency.
She will appear in court on July 16th.
